We’ve been shortlisted for a Footprint Sustainable Procurement Award

Foodbuy, a leading group procurement organisation, has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Footprint Sustainable Procurement Awards 2020 in the category of Social Impact and Diversity.

The Social Impact and Diversity award celebrates businesses that have delivered a step change to profitability, whilst also delivering meaningful social impact.

Organised by the Footprint Media Group, the Footprint Awards are the first initiative to honour the achievements of companies in the area of sustainability and responsible business practice in the out of home sector and its supply chain.

We’ve been shortlisted for our work as the first company in the food and drinks sector to join the Buy Social Corporate Challenge, a ground-breaking initiative that sees corporate partners come together with a collective ambition to spend more with social enterprises. In 2019 alone, We’ve spent more than £2million with over 20 different social enterprises - and this is just the beginning for us.

Ian Murphy, Managing Director of Foodbuy, said: “I’m delighted Foodbuy has been shortlisted for a Footprint Sustainable Procurement Award. To be recognised alongside other leading businesses is a testament to our hard work and commitment to source more sustainably and socially. We believe social enterprises are the future of business and we’re incredibly proud to be using our spend and influence to deliver a real tangible impact for communities, people and the planet.”

Judged by senior industry specialists, these Awards have become synonymous with best practice and dedication to sustainability. Now into its 10th year, the Awards have seen a record number of entries, showcasing the increased importance placed on sustainability by all businesses.

Charlie Miers, Co-Founder and CEO of Footprint Awards, said: "2019 and 2020 have been extraordinary vintages as far as sustainability endeavour is concerned. This is reflected in the amount, not to mention the quality of entries submitted to the Footprint Awards 2020. Each and every organisation shortlisted has done extraordinarily well to make it past the expert panel's scrutiny. Well done to the Foodbuy team.”

The winners will be announced at the Footprint Awards Dinner on Thursday, 17 September 2020 at the Royal Institute of British Architects in London. Wish us luck!
