The Foodbuy Future Leaders Programme

We recently launched our Foodbuy Future Leaders programme (FFLP) for those who are looking for a personalised development journey and the support to grow into a great future leader.

What to expect in our new programme?

Our Future Leaders programme has been designed to have more structure around the procurement framework. The first 11 weeks will be a training programme that will give the future leaders the best possible start in the business, giving them exposure to as much of the business as possible.

But what’s more important to us is where they want to go in their career. The programme lets the future leaders shape a learning and development path that’s right for them. Over the two-year rotational programme, they will be able to choose to be part of any Foodbuy function that they want to progress in. At the same time, they will have a mentor by their side that is there when they need one.

As part of the programme, we provide the training and development tools that enable the future leaders to grow in their role and beyond. They will also have access to career-elevating courses such as the CIPS Qualification Programme to expand their knowledge in procurement.

Future leaders will be able to hit the ground running and get stuck into complex projects right from the start. They’ll get the chance to visit client sites as well as Foodbuy supply chain to learn about where we source our products.

We believe we can play a positive role in improving social mobility through our recruitment and development. In the FFLP, we have removed grade boundaries and are looking to open up to apprentices and interns as the programme develops.

A force for good

As part of the FFLP, the future leaders will be enrolled in our charity committee. We are immensely proud to work closely with our charity partner, Duchenne UK. They have one clear aim - to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a devastating muscle-wasting disease.

As part of the charity committee, the future leaders will get the chance to coordinate fundraising activities throughout the year, helping to make a real difference in the lives of the people that Duchenne works with.

Meet our Foodbuy Future Leaders

As a part of the FFLP, we welcomed George Sharpe, Saima Islania, Gregory Pratt and Victoria Flanagan to our Foodbuy family. We asked our future leaders from the 2021 FFLP why they chose Foodbuy and how they are finding their journey at Foodbuy so far.

George Sharpe, Foodbuy Future Leader and Supply Chain Analyst:

“I chose Foodbuy for its flexible career path and dynamic work life. So far, the scheme has given me a 360 view of how Foodbuy operates and how we interact with each of the sectors of our parent company and largest client, Compass Group - I have found both exciting and insightful.”

Gregory Pratt, Foodbuy Future Leader and Strategic Sourcing Buyer:

“I chose Foodbuy as the opportunity to work for a leading procurement firm that takes Sustainability and Social Values so seriously was highly appealing. I have been really impressed by the support and development that is in place to further our procurement skills, whilst the Company Culture enables us to succeed”.
