Why we’re delighted to be shortlisted for the CIPS Awards

The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) Supply Management Awards are one of the most respected awards for procurement and supply chain professionals and we’re really proud to have our achievements in food procurement recognised by being shortlisted.

With the awards taking place next month, we spoke to Amy Brogan, Strategic Sourcing Director, about why she’s delighted Foodbuy has been shortlisted.

Foodbuy has been shortlisted for a CIPS Awards, how does it feel?
“We are a young group procurement organisation so to be recognised in this way is a great testament to the talent of our people and our ability to deliver savings for our clients. We’re passionate about the procurement services we provide and it’s great to have our achievements recognised on a national scale. We are the only procurement business serving the foodservice and hospitality sector to be shortlisted and when you look at the other names on the shortlist you can see we’re in great company, but we’re not there to simply make up the numbers!”

Why do you think Foodbuy was shortlisted?
“Being shortlisted is a reflection of how well we did last year. We delivered our strongest ever annual performance. Financially, our managed spend increased by 11% through winning new business and helping existing clients grow their sales. But it has not been easy. The food market has been its most volatile in a number of years, so we’ve ensured our approach has been to collaborate, innovate and most importantly, deliver – and that’s why the team deserves to be recognised.”

What would winning a CIPS award mean to you and Foodbuy?
“It’s a great achievement just to be shortlisted but we’re a competitive bunch and winning would mean a lot to the team. It would be validation from the leading procurement authorities in the UK that we’re doing a great job! Regardless of the result, this has really spurred us on to continue pushing what we can deliver for our clients.”

What are you most looking forward to on the awards night?
“It’s going to be a really fun evening and personally, I’m looking forward to celebrating with members of the team and networking with other procurement professionals. CIPS events are always great and I’m sure this will be no exception.”

Any final comments ahead of the awards?
“I’d just like to thank the entire Foodbuy team for their ongoing efforts. I am really proud of what we’re doing and I’m fortunate to work alongside a group of such passionate procurement professionals.”
