Foodbuy announces charity partnership with Duchenne UK

We've announced Duchenne UK as our charity partner.

The Foodbuy team will be aiming to raise more than £50,000 for Duchenne UK, the leading charity working towards accelerating treatments and finding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Foodbuy colleagues will be raising money this summer for Duchenne UK through a number of different activities including; hosting a gala dinner at the Kia Oval in London, running culinary masterclasses & bake sales and through participating in Duchenne UK’s flagship event, the Duchenne Dash.

The Duchenne Dash is a gruelling 24 hour bike ride from London to Paris. Covering more than 200 miles, cyclists pass through some of the most rural areas of France before finishing up the Champs-Élysées and at the Eiffel Tower. Foodbuy has a team of 12 amateur riders training to take part alongside 150 others from across the UK.

Oliver Cock, Managing Director of Foodbuy said: “I’m thrilled to officially announce Duchenne UK as our charity partner. Duchenne UK is a charity very close to my heart and I hope our partnership will raise much needed funds to help find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, the most common genetic killer of children.”

Emily Crossley, Co-Founder and CEO at Duchenne UK, said: “We’re very excited and grateful to the incredible team at Foodbuy for their wonderful support. Throughout this summer, Foodbuy will be raising funds to help us realise our ambition of finding treatments and a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and driving momentum to deliver treatments to help this generation of young boys living with the disease.”
